As the COVID-19 pandemic spreads across countries, many activities have been deeply affected and the education sector is not left out, as both the teachers and students stay indoors while schools have been closed down.

Now the question is, how do we bridge the gap between the pupil and the tutors during this period?

Here are 5 tools ministries of education, educational development organizations, and parents can leverage to support children’s educational needs during school closure.

  1. KitKit School: This is a tablet-based early learning program that includes a suite of games, books, videos, and art and music tools in English to support literacy learning and Math skills independently.
  2. Global Digital Library: This is an open-source digital library that offers free accessible eBooks in more than 50 languages readable on the web, mobile or, for downloading and printing.
  3. Feed the Monster: This is an early literacy digital gaming app that teaches children reading and writing fundamentals while collecting and growing their pet monsters. This is available in the Google play store and a minimum of 50 languages.
  4. Bloom: This enables teachers, parents, and children to easily create leveled and decodable children’s books in any language. It also has access to a library with basic leveled and decodable books available in more than 220 languages.
  5. LabXchange: This is an online platform that enables educational and research experiences delivered with curated and user-created digital learning content.

There are hundreds of other tech solutions that connect both teachers and students virtually, among all includes Edmodo, Socrative, Projeqt, Thinglink, TED-Ed, cK-12, ClassDojo, eduClipper, Storybird, Animoto, Kahoot, and lots more.

As we join hands across the globe to fight COVID-19, let’s remain creative, innovative, and most importantly stay safe as we win together.
